I like paintings, even if I have no clue about the different techniques and the history of art. But from time to time, I see a painting I just like because of its color and/or content. SoHo is a very good place for buying art, as many artists present their work on the sidewalk or eg. on Union Square. Aleksandar Milenkovic showed his work on Union Square, his wife on the sidewalk right in front of the Apple Store in SoHo and his mother just a few corners from this. We had some very nice conversations with his wife and his mother, but we missed to talk to Aleksandar himself, as we did not take the time on Union Square to see through his printings.
On sunday, we wanted to visit the Guggenheim Museum, but we couldn’t make it before the early afternoon and the line was very long. So we looked around a bit and talked to Timothy Ticehurst, who has his gallery right on the verge, in front of the Guggenheim Museum. He also paints there and we had great time talking to him and his relationship to the Museum Ludwig in Cologne.
